MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2017

 

I.          CALL TO ORDER:

 

            Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 11, 2017

 

II.        PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

 

            Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.

 

 III.      ROLL CALL:

 

            City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons

            ATTENDING:  Councilmembers Rich Garde, Rick Johnson, Bill Boster, Ryan Pritchett, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.

Motion by Boster, seconded by Garde to approve Renewal Quote from Hach Service Partnership for annual Partnership Renewal Proposal at the water treatment plant in the amount of $6,592.00  (effective October 11, 2017 through October 10, 2018).  Ayes:  Boster, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Garde, Johnson.  Nayes:  None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried.

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Pritchett to waive 1st reading of Ordinance #1908 Authorizing Entry Into And Execution Of A Crossing Release Agreement Between The City Of Staunton And Norfolk Southern Railway Company.  Ayes:  Scanzoni, Garde, Johnson, Boster, Pritchett.  Nayes:  None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Garde to approve Ordinance #1908 Authorizing Entry Into And Execution Of A Crossing Release Agreement Between The City Of Staunton And Norfolk Southern Railway Company.  Ayes:  Pritchett, Scanzoni, Garde, Johnson, Boster.  Nayes:  None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Pritchett to waive 1st reading of Ordinance #1909 Authorizing Agreements For The Purchase Of Certain Property.  Ayes:  Scanzoni, Garde, Johnson, Boster, Pritchett.  Nayes:  None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Pritchett to approve Ordinance #1909 Authorizing Agreements For The Purchase Of Certain Property.  Ayes:  Garde, Johnson, Boster, Pritchett, Scanzoni.  Nayes: None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried. 

 

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Boster to waive 1st reading of Ordinance #1910 Approving A Charity Roadblock By The Lions Club To Conduct Their Annual Candy Sale Drive At The Intersection Of Main And Route 4 And Main And Union (October 14, 2017).  Ayes:  Johnson, Boster, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Garde.  Nayes:  None.  Absent:  Bodner, Plenske, Sievers.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Garde to approve Ordinance #1910 Approving A Charity Roadblock By The Lions Club To Conduct Their Annual Candy Sale Drive At The Intersection Of Main And Route 4 And Main And Union (October 14, 2017).
