MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2018

I. CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 8, 2018

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.

III. ROLL CALL:

City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons

ATTENDING: Councilmembers Maria Bodner, Rich Garde, Ray Scroggins, Bill Boster, Chad Plenske, Ryan Pritchett, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading, Police Chief Jeff Doerr and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.

PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Scanzoni to pay Invoice dated December 19, 2017 to John H. Crawford & Associates for Design Engineering Work completed on the Gensing Creek Drainage Project in the amount of $20,000.00. Ayes: Scroggins, Boster, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: Johnson. Absent: None. Motion carried 7 Ayes; 1 Naye.

UTILITIES-

Motion by Boster, seconded by Garde to renew Maintenance Quote from Esri, Inc. for software maintenance in the amount of $400.00, with a start date of March 1, 2018 and an end date of February 28, 2019. This will be split evenly between street, sewer and water. Ayes: Boster, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Garde to waive 1st reading of Ordinance #1922 Adopting A Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment For The City Of Staunton, Illinois. Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Boster. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Bodner to approve Ordinance #1922 Adopting A Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment For The City Of Staunton, Illinois. Ayes: Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Boster, Plenske. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Bodner to waive 1st reading of Ordinance #1923 Amending Chapter Twenty-Four, Article Four, Section Two Of The Revised Code Of Ordinances For The City Of Staunton, Illinois Setting Unposted Speed Limit At 30 MPH On Arterial Streets And 25 MPH On Residential Streets Within City Of Staunton Corporate Limits. Ayes: Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Boster, Plenske, Pritchett. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Bodner to approve Ordinance #1923 Amending Chapter Twenty Four, Article Four, Section Two Of The Revised Code Of Ordinances For The City Of Staunton, Illinois Setting Unposted Speed Limit At 30 MPH On Arterial Streets And 25 MPH On Residential Streets Within City Of Staunton Corporate Limits. Alderman Scanzoni left the meeting at this time.

7:28 P.M. Ayes: Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Boster, Plenske, Pritchett.

Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
