MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 2018
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 22, 2018
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons
ATTENDING: Councilmembers Maria Bodner, Rich Garde, Ray Scroggins, Chad Plenske, Ryan Pritchett, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading, Police Chief Jeff Doerr and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.
ELECTRONIC ATTENDANCE: Alderman Rick Johnson.
NOT ATTENDING: Alderman Jeff Scanzoni.
Motion by Garde, seconded by Scroggins to accept Letter of Resignation from Ward 3 Alderman William Boster. Ayes: Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Plenske, Pritchett. Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Bodner to suspend regular order of business to address Resolution #2018-01. Ayes: Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Plenske, Pritchett, Bodner. Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
Motion by Scroggins, seconded by Bodner to approve Resolution #2018-01 Appointing Anthony J. Schrauth, Jr. To The Position Of Ward 3 Alderman For The City Of Staunton, Illinois. Ayes: Scroggins Plenske, Pritchett, Bodner, Garde, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
City Clerk Stiegemeier administered the Oath of Office to Newly Appointed Ward 3 Alderman Anthony J. Schrauth, Jr.

VI. CORRESPONDENCE
Received an e-mail from Express Employment Professionals requesting to set up a
mobile recruiting office at the City Hall parking lot on Thursday, January 25, 2018,
from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. The company is a local staffing agency that offers
employment opportunities that are specifically in Madison and St. Clair Counties. A
copy of the e-mail is attached to the agenda packet.

VIII. CITY CLERK’S REPORT
As of this time, the City of Staunton only has two residential licensed trash haulers.
They are Flowers Sanitation and Robert Sanders Waste Systems. None of the other
trash haulers have returned their applications. Republic Services still offers dumpster
and roll off service, but they no longer offer residential service, and they have also
renewed their trash hauling license.
IX. COMMITTEE REPORTS
PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY -
Motion by Bodner, seconded by Plenske to approve computer support from Illini Tech Services for the Standard Managed Service Agreement to cover 13 computers and two servers at a cost of $750.00 per month. Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Schrauth. Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –
Nothing to report.
FINANCE–
Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Scroggins to transfer $35,000.00 from Civic Improvement Fund to Park and Recreation Fund, as budgeted. Ayes: Pritchett, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins, Schrauth, Plenske. Nayes: None. Absent: Scanzoni. Motion carried.
