NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Staunton will hold a public hearing on April 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Staunton VFW located at 120 E Henry Street, Staunton, IL 62088 to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Natalie Floyd, 304 West Main Street, Staunton, IL 618-635-2233 no later than April 3, 2020. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.
On April 10, 2020 the City of Staunton intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant from the Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program. These funds are to be used by the applicant/business owner for working capital that will include the following activities: provision of financial assistance to local companies to maintain sufficient permanent funding to sustain normal operating working capital needs. The total amount of per submitted applicant requested is a maximum of $25,000 or $500,000 as a whole.
Information related to this program will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of March 30, 2020 at Staunton City Hall between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Interested residents are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing by submitted a written statement to the City Clerk by not later than April 8, 2020 to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been be prepared by the City of Staunton and is also available to the public. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
