The Staunton Area Emergency Management Council (SAEMC) is made up of 13 entities within Staunton who meet monthly to provide advice and coordination on emergency prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery actions and activities.

The SAEMC will be conducting an Active Shooter Table Top Exercise on Wednesday, August 10th at the Staunton Public School.

Our active shooter table top will simulate an emergency situation in a low stress environment. Participants discuss scenarios presented and general problems and procedures in the context of response to a specific incident.

Also, in honor of National Preparedness Month (September) we will be holding our Safety Fair on Saturday, September 10th 10am-1pm (rain out date of October 1st) at NET Community Church.

We will have inside and outside exhibitors to help prepare our community for emergencies before they occur. Extensive resources and trained personnel with hands on activities will be on site for this event. The public is welcome and this is a free event.
