MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 24, 2026.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.

Received an email from Phil Girardin, Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, requesting to close Henry Street from Elm to Wood Street on Saturday, September 12th, from 12:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. for an outdoor church service and community event. They are also requesting to limit traffic to through traffic only on Hoxsey Street from Panhorst to Henry Street.

Motion by Tipler, seconded by Manning to approve Resolution #2026-24 A Resolution Approving An Agreement With Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental For Professional Civil Engineering Services Related To The 6th Street Storm Sewer Replacement Project For The City Of Staunton. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Berg, Machota, Bagaglio, Tipler, Manning. Nayes: None. Absent: Frank, McKee. Motion carried.
Motion by Tipler, seconded by Manning to approve Resolution #2026-25 A Resolution Approving The Addition Of City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier And City Treasurer Cindy Pirok As Authorized Signatories On A Financial Investment Account At LPL Financial For The City Of Staunton. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Machota, Bagaglio, Tipler, Manning, Berg. Nayes: None. Absent: Frank, McKee. Motion carried.

Mayor Neuhaus stated that the Ribfest this past weekend went very well and the
