MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JULY 11, 2022


I. CALL TO ORDER:


Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 11, 2022


II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.


III. ROLL CALL:

City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:


ATTENDING: Aldermen David Manning, David Dias, Rick Johnson, Ryan Machota, John Moore and Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, Public Works Director Mike Kuethe and Police Chief Jeff Doerr.


ELECTRONIC ATTENDANCE: Alderman Randy Hanks and City Attorney Phil Lading.


NOT ATTENDING: Alderman Chad Plenske.

Governor Pritzker has signed a new Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation extending the statewide declaration through July 24, 2022, which means that public meetings may continue to be held remotely.

PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

Motion by Scanzoni, seconded by Manning to approve Staunton FFA access to use the Firemen’s Park on Tuesday August 2nd, 2022 for the annual Back to School Family Picnic. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Johnson, Hanks, Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Manning, Dias. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske. Motion carried.


FINANCE–

WATER-

Nothing to report.


STREET / SEWER

Motion by Machota, seconded by Manning to approve Canadian Crossing Drainage project with the total cost not to exceed $5000. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Hanks, Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Manning, Dias, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske. Motion carried.


PUBLIC GROUNDS-

TOURISM –

PERSONNEL –

Motion by Dias, seconded by Scanzoni to allow Street Foreman Bart Yakos to carry over any unused vacation time from 2021-2022 to 2022-2023. Bart’s anniversary date is July 25th. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Manning, Dias, Johnson, Hanks. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske. Motion carried.
