MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2020
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 12, 2020
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
Prior to roll call being taken, City Clerk Stiegemeier announced that tonight’s City Council Meeting was being conducted remotely and was being recorded due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:
ATTENDING: Aldermen Brooke Wallace, Rick Johnson, Randy Hanks, Ryan Machota, Chad Plenske, John Moore and Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.
ELECTRONIC ATTENDANCE: Alderman Maria Bodner.

V. GUESTS
Ronald Turnbough addressed the City Council regarding his concerns with the Ordinance (#2092), which was amending the zoning of property at 310 E. North Street. Mr Turnbough lives next to the property, which is up for approval tonight, for Bank of Hillsboro. He understands that the business is good for the community, but he is concerned that increased traffic from the proposed parking lot will create safety concerns for children in the area. He is also concerned about drainage issues affecting his property.

VIII. CITY CLERK’S REPORT
Normal burn days in the City of Staunton are Friday and Saturday, however, starting
October 15th and going through December 15th, yard waste can be burnt everday. This applies to yard waste only, no household trash.

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Plenske to approve ordering a new police car, as budgeted. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Johnson, Hanks, Machota, Plenske, Moore, Scanzoni, Bodner, Wallace. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
