Public Meeting Notice--October 20 & 21, 2025

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

PURSUANT TO THE OPEN MEETINGS ACT, notice is hereby given of  Public Meetings

to be held at the Ralph & Josephine Oltmann Community Center, 101 W. Pearl St,  Staunton, Illinois.

 The meetings will be held on:  Monday, October 20, 2025 at 6:00 P.M.

                                                     Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. 

            AGENDA

The City of Staunton will discuss a referendum on municipal aggregation of electricity supply for residents.  This program, offered through The Stone River Group Energy Brokerage, allows the City to negotiate electricity rates on behalf of residents who have not opted out, potentially reducing costs.

The referendum will appear on the March primary election ballot.

Two public meetings, as listed above, will be held to provide information and answer questions.

This notice is published in the Staunton Star Times and posted at the City Clerk’s Office in accordance with statutory requirements:  Municipal Aggregation Legislation (HB3182) – Page 2, Lines 23-26; Page 3, Line 1.
