MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, 2026
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Pro-Tem Terry Tipler called the Staunton City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Pro-Tem Terry Tipler led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:
PRESENT: City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, Aldermen Ben Frank, Kristy Berg, Ryan Machota, Anthony Bagaglio, Matthew McKee and Terry Tipler.
ELECTRONIC ATTENDANCE: Alderman David Manning.
V. BUSINESS
Motion by Frank, seconded by Berg to approve bid from Joe’s Electric, Inc. for labor and materials to complete the Main Street Lighting Project in the amount of $105,000.00. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Frank, Berg, Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Tipler, Manning. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Motion by Frank, seconded by Berg to approve bid from Joe’s Electric, Inc. for labor and materials to complete the Pearl Street Lighting Project in the amount of $135,000.00. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Berg, Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Tipler, Manning, Frank. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
Motion by Frank, seconded by Machota to approve hiring one part time Park and Recreation Department Employee. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Tipler, Manning, Frank, Berg. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, Councilmember Manning, seconded by Councilmember McKee made a motion to adjourn at 6:34 P.M. At Roll Call Vote - Ayes: Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Tipler, Manning, Frank, Berg. .Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
