MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, MAY 4, 2026
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, May 4, 2026.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:
PRESENT: Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, Aldermen David Manning, Ben Frank, Kristy Berg, Ryan Machota, Anthony Bagaglio and Matthew McKee.
NOT ATTENDING: Alderman Terry Tipler.
IV. CORRESPONDENCE
Received an email from Zion Lutheran School requesting to close West Henry Street from Wood to Elm Street on May 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., for Zion’s Annual Family Fun Night.
V. BUSINESS
Motion by Frank, seconded by Manning to approve request from Zion Lutheran School to close West Henry Street from Wood to Elm Street on May 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. for Zion’s Annual Family Fun Night. At Roll Call Vote – Frank, Berg, Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Manning. Nayes: None. Absent: Tipler. Motion carried.
Motion by Frank, seconded by Manning to approve Resolution #2026-10 A Resolution Approving A Construction Agreement With Brucon Constructions Services, LLC. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Berg, Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Manning, Frank. Nayes: None. Absent: Tipler. Motion carried.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, Councilmember Manning, seconded by Councilmember McKee made a motion to adjourn at 6:02 P.M. At Roll Call Vote:
Ayes: Machota, Bagaglio, McKee, Manning, Frank, Berg. .
Nayes: None.
Absent: Tipler.
Motion carried.
