MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD AT THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 N. EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, MAY 8, 2017
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 8, 2017.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons
PRESENT: Councilmembers Rich Garde, Chad Plenske, Ryan Pritchett, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Attorney Phil Lading, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, Police Chief Jeff Doerr and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.
EXCUSED: Alderwoman Maria Bodner and Alderman Herb Sievers.

VII . CORRESPONDENCE
Received a Letter of Resignation from Rick Johnson, dated May 2, 2017, stating that he will be resigning from the City of Staunton Police Board of Commissioners. Rick will be terminating his position effective May 7, 2017.
Received a letter from Julie Jarman, Librarian for the Staunton Public Library, requesting to use the band shelter at City Hall for their finale of the Summer Reading Program on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. In case of inclement weather, Julie is requesting to use the library basement that same day. They have requested to have rental fees waived.
Received an e-mail from Bill and Aisha Boster of the Staunton Baseball/Softball League, requesting approval from the City for the League to have their annual parade on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.
Received a Liquor License Application from the Staunton Fire Department for their annual Homecoming Celebration, which will be held on June 23, 24 and 25, 2017. They are requesting to have the liquor license fee to be waived.

Motion by Plenske, seconded by Johnson to grant request from the Staunton Baseball/Softball League to have their annual parade on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Ayes: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: Bodner, Sievers. Motion carried.
Motion by Plenske, seconded by Johnson to issue liquor license to the Staunton Fire Department for their annual Homecoming Celebration on June 23, 24 and 25, 2017, with the liquor license fee being waived. Ayes: Plenske, Prichett, Scanzoni, Garde, Johnson. Nays: None. Absent: Bodner, Sievers. Motion carried.
