MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JULY 10, 2017
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Pro-Tem Jeff Scanzoni called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 10, 2017
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Pro-Tem Jeff Scanzoni led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons
ATTENDING: Councilmembers Maria Bodner, Rick Johnson, Chad Plenske, Ryan Pritchett, Jeff Scanzoni, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading, Public Works Director Mike Kuethe and Police Chief Jeff Doerr.
NOT ATTENDING: Aldermen Bill Boster, Rich Garde and Herb Sievers and Mayor Craig Neuhaus.

V. GUESTS
Anthony Silvester was in attendance to discuss the water line in Mettler Estates. Mr. Silvester had met with Mayor Neuhaus and City Attorney Lading some time ago and he is asking the City to accept and take over the water line in Mettler Estates. Attorney Lading told Mr. Silvester that he had spoken with the Mayor today and Mayor Neuhaus will be calling a committee meeting in the near future and Mr. Silvester will be invited to attend that meeting.

UTILITIES-
Motion by Bodner, seconded by Plenske to pay Invoice #118-3 to Oros & Busch Application Technologies for sludge removal at the water plant lagoons in the amount of $9,484.36. Ayes: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Garde, Sievers. Motion carried.
Motion by Bodner, seconded by Johnson to pay Invoice #21707 to Aquafix for lagoon chemicals at a cost of $14,345.61. This was approved at the June 12, 2017 City Council Meeting, but the shipping cost was not figured in to the quote. Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Garde, Sievers. Motion carried.

The following statement was read by Ward 2 Alderman/Tourism Committee
Chairman Rick Johnson:
On behalf of the City of Staunton, Staunton Chamber ofCommerce, Boeing Employee Bicycle Club and all of the participants andattendees in both the Tour De Donut and the Rib Fest, Thank You to all thevolunteers who made both these events ahuge success. There are just too manyindividuals from our community and beyond that so unselfishly gave of themselves on Saturday. I wish I could name each and every oneindividually, but let's face it there were just too many of you and I would notwant anyone to feel left out. These men,women, boys and girls of our community provided so much help and worked so hardin so many ways to ensure these events were a success it is astounding!
