I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 14, 2017
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons

VI. CORRESPONDENCE
Received an e-mail from Poonam Jain on behalf of the ITS Bike Trail Committee. Dr. Jain is requesting to use the South Water Tower Park on August 26, 2017 from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. for a Bike Safety Fair for local kids. She is asking to have the park rental fee waived for the event. Mayor Neuhaus has also been contact by Dr. Jain and she asked to use some City owned tables and chairs as well.
VII. TREASURER’S REPORT
Investments recently purchased at Bank of Springfield for 13 months at 1.30%:

VIII. CITY CLERK’S REPORT
Republic Services, one of the licensed trash haulers for the City of Staunton, will be
discontinuing residential services to our area on August 9th. They have sent a letter to their customers informing them of this. As of this time, we will have four licensed
residential trash haulers in the City of Staunton.
Kerber, Eck and Braeckel, LLP has done their on site visit for the annual City Audit
IX. COMMITTEE REPORTS
PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY -
Motion by Bodner, seconded by Johnson to advertise hiring for part time police dispatchers. Ayes: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Sievers. Motion carried.
PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –
Motion by Scanzoni, seconded by Bodner to grant request from the ITS Bike Trail Committee to use the South Water Tower Park on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. for a Bike Safety Fair for local kids, with the park rental fee being waived, and also to use City owned tables and chairs.
