I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 14, 2017

VI. CORRESPONDENCE
Received an e-mail from Poonam Jain on behalf of the ITS Bike Trail Committee. Dr. Jain is requesting to use the South Water Tower Park on August 26, 2017 from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. for a Bike Safety Fair for local kids. She is asking to have the park rental fee waived for the event. Mayor Neuhaus has also been contact by Dr. Jain and she asked to use some City owned tables and chairs as well.

VIII. CITY CLERK’S REPORT
Republic Services, one of the licensed trash haulers for the City of Staunton, will be
discontinuing residential services to our area on August 9th. They have sent a letter to their customers informing them of this. As of this time, we will have four licensed
residential trash haulers in the City of Staunton.
Kerber, Eck and Braeckel, LLP has done their on site visit for the annual City Audit

PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY -
Motion by Bodner, seconded by Johnson to advertise hiring for part time police dispatchers. Ayes: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Sievers. Motion carried.
PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Johnson to reimburse Illinois Public Risk Fund $4,012.10 for overpayment of workers compensation benefit paid to the City of Staunton regarding File # 15C08G321892. Ayes: Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Sievers. Motion carried.
Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Bodner to renew health insurance for City of Staunton full time employees from CBIZ Benefits & Insurances of Illinois (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Illinois), with a 1.05% rate decrease, effective October 1, 2017. The monthly renewal premium will be $779.31 per employee (down from $787.58 per employee). Ayes: Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Plenske. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Sievers. Motion carried.

Motion by Garde, seconded by Pritchett to pay Invoice #S1127319.003 to Schulte Supply for stock water meters in the amount of $20,973.75. Ayes: Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Plenske. Nayes: None. Absent: Boster, Sievers. Motion carried.

Motion by Garde, seconded by Scanzoni to accept quote from Vandevanter Engineering for One Year Annual Preventative Maintenance Contract for the main lift station at a cost of $5,056.00 for the 2017 – 2018 Fiscal Year. Motion by Garde, seconded by Bodner to accept quote from Vandevanter Engineering for One Year Annual Preventative Maintenance Contract for the McKay, Timberview, Stonecreek, Canadian Crossing and Hi-Café Lift Stations at a cost of $2,091.00 for the 2017 – 2018 Fiscal Year. Motion by Johnson, seconded by Bodner to apply for the Liquor License for the upcoming Balloon Glow, which will be held on August 19, 2017 (verbal approval was given to City Hall Office and application has been sent in).
