MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JUNE 25, 2018

I. CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 25, 2018

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.

III. ROLL CALL:

City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons

ATTENDING: Councilmembers Maria Bodner, Rich Garde, Ray Scroggins, Anthony Schrauth, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading, Public Works Director Mike Kuethe and Police Chief Jeff Doerr.

PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

FINANCE–

Motion by Bodner, seconded by Scroggins to pay Invoice #36881 to Environmental Operations, Inc. for Pre-Demolition Inspections on properties at 200, 202 and 208 East Main and 104 and 110 South Laurel in the amount of $2,256.00. This will be paid from the Downtown TIF Fund. Ayes: Scroggins, Schrauth, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

Motion by Bodner, seconded by Scanzoni to pay Macoupin County Property Tax Statement for property at 200 and 202 East Main in the amount of $1,704.10. Ayes: Schrauth, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Scroggins. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

Motion by Bodner, seconded by Scanzoni to pay Macoupin County Property Tax Statement for property at 208 East Main in the amount of $735.42. Ayes: Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Scroggins, Schrauth. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

UTILITIES-

Motion by Garde, seconded by Scroggins to approve Three Year Annual Preventative Maintenance Contract for Main Lift Station with Vandevanter Engineering at a cost of $5,303.00 per year for 2018 and 2019 Annual Inspections and $5,515.00 for the 2020 Annual Inspection. Ayes: Bodner, Garde, Scroggins, Schrauth, Scanzoni. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

Motion by Garde, seconded by Scanzoni to approve Three Year Annual Preventative Maintenance Contract for the McKay, Timberview, Stone Creek, Canadian Crossing, Hi-Café and Water Plant Backwash Lift Stations with Vandevanter Engineering at a cost of $3,126.00 per year for 2018 and 2019 Annual Inspections and $3,282.00 for the 2020 Annual Inspection. Ayes: Garde, Scroggins, Schrauth, Scanzoni, Bodner. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

Motion by Schrauth, seconded by Garde to pay Invoice #163 to D & E Janitorial Service for the annual floor stripping and waxing at City buildings in the amount of $2,800.00. Ayes: Scroggins, Schrauth, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.

Ayes: Bodner, Garde, Scroggins, Schrauth, Scanzoni. Nayes: None. Absent: Johnson, Plenske, Pritchett. Motion carried.
