MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, 914 NORTH EASTON ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 27, 2018

I. CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 27, 2018

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.

III. ROLL CALL:

City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons

ATTENDING: Councilmembers Maria Bodner, Rich Garde, Rick Johnson, Ray Scroggins, Chad Plenske, Anthony Schrauth, Ryan Pritchett, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading, Public Works Director Mike Kuethe and Police Chief Jeff Doerr.

City Hall Office will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 in observance of the

Labor Day Holiday. All public works employees, except for on water treatment plant

employee, will be off that day as well.

PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

Nothing to report.

FINANCE–

Motion by Pritchett, seconded by Johnson to approve renewal of City of Staunton Employee Dental, Life, Vision and AD&D Insurance from CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services of Illinois for the period November 1, 2018 to November 1, 2019 at a cost of $49.17 per employee, per month (Principal Insurance Co.). Ayes: Johnson, Scroggins, Schrauth, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

UTILITIES-

Motion by Garde, seconded by Scroggins to accept bid from A & A Drilling, Inc. for a directional bore for the South Madison Street and Old Route 66 Water Main Project in the amount of $11,200.00. Ayes: Scroggins, Schrauth, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Garde, seconded by Scanzoni to accept quote from Midwest Municipal Supply for materials for the South Madison Street and Old Route 66 Water Main Project in the amount of $14,314.64. Ayes: Schrauth, Plenske, Pritchett, Scanzoni, Bodner, Garde, Johnson, Scroggins. Nayes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
