MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JULY 27, 2020
I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 27, 2020
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
III. ROLL CALL:
Prior to roll call being taken, City Clerk Stiegemeier announced that tonight’s City Council Meeting was being conducted remotely and was being recorded due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:

Received an e-mail from the Illinois State Water Survey informing the City that they will be partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to examine flood risks along Ginseng Creek. A survey crew will be operating along the creek beginning in July, 2020 and continuing through the summer.

The Illinois Municipal League is having a ½ price sale on several books. A copy of the list is attached to the agenda packet.

Motion by Johnson, seconded by Hanks to pay Invoice #20C-43 to Brownlee Data Systems for annual Village Police Maintenance Agreement in the amount of $1,800.00 (8/5/2020 through 8/4/2021). At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Johnson, Hanks, Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Bodner. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske, Wallace. Motion carried.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Hanks to proceed with demolition of the condemned property at 801 East Mill Street, with a cost not to exceed $4,000.00. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Hanks, Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Bodner, Johnson. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske, Wallace. Motion carried.
PARK & CIVIC IMPROVEMENT –

FINANCE–
Motion by Moore, seconded by Johnson to pay Invoice #50999 to Illini Tech Services for managed services and labor to populate zoning database in the amount of $1,450.00. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Machota, Moore, Scanzoni, Bodner, Johnson, Hanks. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske, Wallace. Motion carried.
Motion by Moore, seconded by Scanzoni to renew health insurance for City of Staunton full time employees from CBIZ Benefit & Insurance Services of Illinois (Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Illinois), effective October 1, 2020. The monthly renewal premium will be $921.72. At Roll Call Vote – Ayes: Moore, Scanzoni, Bodner, Johnson, Hanks, Machota. Nayes: None. Absent: Plenske, Wallace. Motion carried.
