MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE STAUNTON CITY COUNCIL, HELD IN THE RALPH & JOSEPHINE OLTMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 101 W. PEARL ST., STAUNTON, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2022


I. CALL TO ORDER:


Mayor Craig Neuhaus called the Staunton City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 27, 2022.


II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Craig Neuhaus led the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.


III. ROLL CALL:

City Clerk Stiegemeier called roll with the following persons:


ATTENDING: Aldermen David Manning, Rick Johnson, Ryan Machota, John Moore, Jeff Scanzoni, Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, City Treasurer Cindy Pirok, City Attorney Phil Lading and Public Works Director Mike Kuethe.


ELECTRONIC ATTENDANCE: Alderman David Dias.


NOT ATTENDING: Aldermen Chad Plenske and Randy Hanks and Police Chief Jeff Doerr.

V. GUESTS

Brian McCollum, a resident that lives on East Main Street, addressed the Council regarding debris that was in his yard from the Fireworks Show last evening. Mr. McCollum had concerns with a possible fire hazzard due to the debris landing in the yard and on his car. He made it clear that he does not want the Fireworks Show cancelled, but he wanted to make the City aware of the situation. Mayor Neuhaus assured Mr. McCollum that the fire department was well aware and they searched the area for possible problems following the show.


VI. CORRESPONDENCE

Received a letter of resignation from full time police officer Kenneth Lutz. The letter was dated June 5, 2022 with the effective date being June 18, 2022.


Received a letter of resignation from part time crossing guard Jules Bartony, Sr.
